Story: Zeta Squad must save any survivors that are left while fighting the Locust.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is good, but you get 2 of them 1 is for Zeta Squad and the other for the Locust who will destroy everything. G00D!

Graphics: Raam’s Shadow shares the same visuals as the main campaign and it looks really good replaying it in 2014.

Audio: The French and English voices are both really good.

Good: Raam’s Shadow plays like the main story, but it stars new characters. So you shoot, take cover, chainsaw Locus up the ass, throw grenades, look at interesting things, reload to gain a damage boost, place a lock-on on any foe so your friends can know who is the most dangerous on the battlefield, exchange weapons with friends and give them ammo. It includes the new weapons, enemies, and a battle suit. The AI is super helpful in battle that they can pretty much eliminate everyone if you give them a chance. And you fight 2 bosses which are bosses from the other Gears. Also you get to play General Raam and use his might to destroy the COG and he plays exactly like he did in Gears 1.

Bad: The Ai is still stupid and tend to ignore you at times when you’re dying.

Overall: Ramm’s Shadow is a great dlc to Gears 3 and its lots of fun to play, but I wish the Ai would revive you every time you’re dying. Highly recommended.

Likes: Graphics, story, voices, gameplay.

Dislikes: Ai.

Wishlist: New Gears, better Ai.

Story: The planet is dying and its only hope is Adam Fenix who Marcus thought was dead and is going to try to find him.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is good, but it can sadden people as this ends the franchise’s story. Note Gears 3 is the sequel to Gears 2.

Graphics: Gears 3 came out in September of 2011 and playing it in 2014 it still holds up just like Gear 1 and 2 which is amazing.

Audio: The French voice acting is good and bad depending on the characters. The English voices are really good and the game still has that good score from the previous games.

Good: Gears 3 is a 3rd person cover based shooter where you shoot, take cover, chainsaw Locus and Glowies up the ass, throw grenades, look at interesting things, reload to gain a damage boost, and now place a lock-on on any foe so your friends can know who is the most dangerous on the battlefield. Another new feature is the ability to exchange weapons with friends and give them ammo. The game has new weapons, enemies, and a battle suit. The AI is super helpful in battle that they can pretty much eliminate everyone if you give them a chance. And the game has 5 boss fights.

Bad: While the Ai for your teammates is good in a fight, they tend to forget about reviving you at times as if you stay far away from them and you’re on the verge of dying they will not go all the way back to revive you.

Overall: Gears 3 is the most fined tuned Gears, but the AI is both good and bad. The game is really fun like all the other Gears and this is a great finally to a great franchise. Highly recommended.

Likes: Gameplay, graphics, audio, and story.

Dislikes: Some French voices and the Ai.

Wishlist: Another Gears and a re-release on XBOX 1.

Story: The Locust are back and this time they brought new friends and are aiming to destroy all the cities that still remain. So the Gears must defend their last line of defense Jacinto or they’ll end up losing their home.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is really good for both the main story and the deleted 1. G00D!

Note Gears 2 is a Sequel to Gears 1.

Graphics: Gears 2 came out in 2008 and playing it in 2014 it still holds up very well, but there is a bit of texture loading. It has the visual style as it predecessors, but makes it less grey and a bit more brown.

Audio: The music fits in nicely and the battle cue returns. The English voice acting is really good with the characters that do return are voiced by the same actors from the previous game. The Spanish voices are really good as well except for Carmine’s voice which I don’t like, but the volume drops for some reason at times in Spanish.

Gameplay and Features:

Good:  Gears of War 2 is a 3rd-person shooter where you play Marcus and will always be accompanied by Dom and 1 or 2 more guys. Gears 2 plays like its predecessor so you have the dodge, the cover system that is smoother in 2, shooting, carrying 3 weapons and 1 grenade, the chainsaw gun returns, melee returns, you’ll get to choose some paths at times again, fight 4 bosses, explore, and use the active reload to get a damage boost again to beat the Locust over and over until they give up.

So what’s new in Gears 2? Well you can stick grenades on walls and on enemies. You can execute Locust when they are on their knees or use 1 as a Locust shield. There are new weapons and foes. And there are chainsaw duels!

Bad: ?

Overall: Gears 2 is EPIC FUN TIME! The play is so good I never got tired of killing Locust. In my honest opinion, Gears 2 is the best Gears game even though I said last year Judgment was the best 1, but Judgment is either number 2 or 3. I highly recommend this game as it is 1 of the best games on XBOX. Now maybe I should go to 3?

Likes: Gameplay, graphics, voices, music, story.

Dislikes: Volume drop, texture loading.

Wishlist: Another Gears.

Score: 5/5 EPIC!

Game Supports Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polski, Portuguese, Netherlands, and English text.

Audio Support Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and English.

Supports 1 player for Story mode and 1-2 players on Raid mode online.

Story: Jill and Parker are sent to the Queen Zenobia to find Chris, but while they search for him they must fight the terrors that await them and solve the mystery about the ship.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is like a detective show with a bit of comedy, some action, and a creepy setting. After beating each episode the game will recap the events before the next episode begins. Of all the RE games I played this RE game has the most interesting story of them all. And for the majority of the story you play Jill but you will also play other characters too that will give you more insight on the story. GOOD!

Graphics: The game looks like an XBOX and early XBOX 360 game, it looks good, but there are a few parts where the textures are low res.

Audio: The Japanese voice acting is really good and the music fits the theme of the game really well.

Game play:

Good: Biohazard Revelations is a 3rd person action-horror shooter where you can shoot, stab, punch/kick, dodge, swim, upgrade, solve puzzles, and scan the environment. You can carry 3 guns at the same time(you can switch the guns you carry by finding the item box) and find more guns through the ship, each gun in upgrade-able by adding custom parts that can add more damage or faster firing and more. Grenades are now mapped to a button and you can switch to different types of grenades at any time. There are puzzles to solve and they are simple. To punch and kick enemies you must stun them and when the button appears you can press or hold it to cause more damage. The dodge mechanic is done by pressing up or down on the left stick when being attacked, it’s not the best dodge in RE but it works. Stabbing enemies is easy if you use control type 1(if you sue type 2 then you will have to hold a button to equip the knife) you will not have to hold a button to use the knife instead you just press the attack button and you will automatically attack with the knife. The game’s most useful and interesting mechanic is the Genesis a device that scans the environment to looks for hidden items(ammo or key items) and scan enemies that if you get 100% then you will get a herb (you can hold a total of 5 herbs in your inventory but when you use 1 or more herbs you will regain them as long as you get 100% scan). There are also swimming levels and the controls work really well. There are boss fights, unlockables,  a coop mode called Raid mode which is this games version of mercenaries but different, and a new difficulty called inferno that will change items and enemy positions. The game also allows for exploration with a map included on the screen and the other playable characters give the game a more action element than Jill’s part of the game which is horror with a bit of action. Note: I enjoyed playing the other characters more than playing Jill.

Bad: Through the whole game you will have a partner in story mode, but you can’t play coop which I would have liked as your partner will not come to your rescue in every fight. When going in elevators the game kind of freezes and some doors that have a steering wheel can take a bit longer to open and the frame rate drops when it is trying to open the door. If you leave a area where you already scanned a hidden item, but did not pick it up then when you comeback you will have to re-scan it to make the hidden item appear again. Another thing is carrying ammo is a lot different this time as in past games you could carry how much ammo you want for a specific gun as long as you had space in your inventory, but in Revelations ammo for a pistol only takes 1 slot of your inventory since the other slots are for a shot gun, sniper, and other weapons ammo cases. You can upgrade that 1 ammo slot to carry 10 bullets or more, but makes no sense when you clearly have a lot space in your inventory to carry at least 8 pistol ammo cases. The game includes 2 control schemes, type 1 is the shooter controls and type 2 is the classic RE controls. In type 1 your character movement controls are up is forward, back is walk backwards, and left to right is side stepping. Moving the character this way is good when aiming your weapon, but when the character is not aiming a weapon its awkward. The camera in type 1 allows you to look up and down, but when moving it to the left and right it turns the character in that direction like past RE games, but mapping it to the camera controls makes it feel very awkward thus making both the movement and camera controls feel like a N64 FPS controls. In type 2 controls the character can move up, walk backwards, and turn to the left and right like past RE games, the characters movement feels better but not as good as its RE4 and 5 counter parts as it feels slower. The camera in type 2 is similar to the RE4 and 5 camera, but moving the camera feels very awkward and sticky. Also the camera can be a nuisance in a later boss fight as it will turn around to look at the attacks the boss does and can ruin your aiming, also in 1 of the other characters you play as the character will take the left side of the screen that can make some enemies on that part of the screen not be visible. I would have liked if the game offered a better control scheme than the 2 that are offered like a RE6 style control scheme and the ability to change the screen settings along with a reset camera button.

Overall: Revelations is good game with the best story in a RE game yet and feels like RE1, but with the controls of some modern RE games, it’s not the best RE game I played even though it’s fun. The game wasn’t scary even though it has a creepy atmosphere, but it doesn’t make it a bad thing. However the camera and movement is not great and the partner’s AI could use improvement as well as a better inventory for the ammo.

Likes: Story, voices, graphics,  music, scanning, melee attacks, action, unlocks, boss fights, swimming, comedy, upgrades, exploring.

Dislikes: Partner Ai, movement, camera, no coop for story mode, control options, re-scan items, ammo slots, freezing, frame drops, loading.

Wish list: Coop for story mode, better movement and camera, more control options,  ammo slots like previous re games, no re-scan items.

Score: 4/5 GOOD!

Recommended for fans of: Action, RE, adventure, Capcom, horror, shooters, coop, bro-ops, comedy, mystery, arcade, Titanic, ships, swimming.

Game Supports: English text only.

Audio Support: Bilingual(some English and some Spanish).

Supports 1 player only.

Story:(Main story) Leon is sent to a village in Spain to rescue Ashley from her kidnappers, but he must survive first if Ashley has any hope to get back home. (Separate Ways) Ada is sent to Spain and must retrieve the sample from the same group who captured Ashley, but she has to survive first just to get it and maybe help Leon with a kiss.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is really good as it makes you want to find out what will happen next. While you can get story from cut scenes there are files available that will give you more insight on some characters. GOOD!

Graphics: RE4 came out in early 2005 on the GC and was the best looking game on that console eventually it got ported to other consoles and still looked good, but does it look good compared to other game released on the current consoles? The answer is yes. RE4 is still 1 of the best looking game I ever played and is still 1 of the best looking games to this date even with new games from the series. However there is 1 short cut scene that is not rendered well in the HD versions.

Audio: The voice acting is really good. Some characters speak English and some Spanish while that is good I would have liked more dubs and a full English and Spanish dub. Music is well done with some made for the action parts and some made for the horror parts. There is a bit of music that doesn’t sync well in 2 cut scenes in the HD versions.

Game play:

Good: RE4 is a 3rd person shooter that includes action, survival, and horror. Aiming is done over the shoulder and you can shoot(or knife) any part of the body of your enemies with some you have to hit in a certain area just to do damage. You must protect Ashley when playing as Leon as if she dies or gets taken by the bad guys then you lose. Throughout the game you can find items in boxes or in the open field to aid you in combat, sell, or heal you. There are QTE in cut scenes and fights where you must press buttons to avoid damage and to continue some cut scenes. Throughout the game you will come across a merchant who will sell you weapons and upgrades as well as allowing you to sell items to him, but if you shoot him then he will not appear in that area again.  The game also has puzzles which are simple, scares, boss fights, a movie browser for both stories, and unlock able modes that will give you more play time along with costumes. And the last thing you can change the controls to 1 of 2 types.

Bad: A minor that can also be a big issue(depends) is you can’t transfer items and upgrades acquired from normal and transfer them to professional mode and vice-versa.

Differences between Leon and Ada:

Leon can upgrade all of his weapons except 4, use different costumes, must protect Ashley, and can get more weapons.

Ada takes more damage, can upgrade only the weapons she buys from the merchant except 1, has no alternate costumes for her story, no one to protect, and has a hook line.

Differences between RE4 on different platforms:

The GC version has only Leon’s Story, unlock able modes, and costumes.

The PS2 version has all of the GC content plus 16:9 widescreen, Ada Story mode, new weapon, new costume, and movie browser.

The PC version has all of the PS2 content, plus better visuals and mouse and keyboard support.

The Wii version has all of the PS2 content plus a trailer for RE Umbrella Chronicles, enhances the game with the use of the Wiimote which includes better aiming, swing the Wiimote to do a quick knife swipe,  and progressive scan mode.

The 360 and PS3 version have all of the PS2 content plus leader boards, 2 control schemes, and achievements/trophies.

Overall: Of all the games I have played RE4 is the only game I have played so many times that I have memorized how to beat the game’s story modes. While the first time it was scary it eventually became un-scary do to playing it a lot, but does not being scared make it less fun? No it can be scary if it wants, but the most important part is having fun. RE4 was the evolution to the RE series and is still 1 of my favorite and best games. This is a must have game.

Likes: Graphics, voices, game play, QTE, unlocks, Story, scares, boss fights, upgrades, puzzles.

Dislikes(minor): Can’t transfer upgrades and items to a different difficulty.

Wish list: Bringing the merchant back in to future RE games.

Score: 5/5 AWESOME!
