REMEMBER ME

Platforms: Xbox 360/PC/PS3

Game Supports Spanish, French, Italian, German, and English text.

Audio Support French, Italian, German, Spanish, and English.

Played in French.

Story: Nilin is a memory hunter who is able to delete, steal, and change anyone’s memory and cause of that her own memory has been deleted. However, a person named Edge(not the former WWE wrestler) is going to help you get them back from the ones who deleted her memory.

Good or Bad Story?: Its really interesting to see what Nilin has to do to just get her memories. In the beginning it starts at a good pace, but later it gets emotional. GOOD!

Graphics: The game runs on Unreal Engine 3 and it looks really good. The art of the game reminds me of Appleseed EX Machina if it was made by the French.

Audio: The French voice acting is really good and unlike most games you can change the voice audio in game. The music of Remember Me is 1 of the best I ever heard in video games yet.

Game play:

Good: Remember Me is a 3rd person action beat-em up that is straightforward. Like any beat-em up you will fight enemies who are of lower class and then fight the boss at the end of the stage. The combat; however, is different from other beat-em ups as you can pull-off combos which you have a total of 4, but start off with 2. The combos can be adjusted to your liking by going in to the combo lab where you assign any attacks to any of the 4 combos and there are 4 types to choose strength, heal, cool down, and chain. Strength attacks do more damage, heal attacks will give you health, cool down will lower the timer on your S-Pressens so they can recharge quicker, and chain allows you to chain another combo. The longer the combo the more the timing changes to land the next attack and you can reset your combos by rolling which can also help you avoid attacks from your enemies. There are also super moves called S-Pressens which give you new abilities, but you must unlock them first and there are fatalities called Overloads which are satisfying. And the combat is similar to the Batman Arkham games as you can move the left stick in any direction while attacking to switch targets. There are parts of the game where you will have to use stealth, it starts easy and gets harder later. There are puzzles which are mostly simple, but there are a few that require patients and some cut scenes are also puzzles know as Memory Remix where you will have to alter the memory of certain characters. You will be able to explore the environment to find collectibles that can increase your stats, health kits, earn xp, and unlock some artwork. You can also shoot enemies(the shooting has a Metroid Prime Feel), fight bosses( each boss fight is different), and there are plenty of plat forming. Note the game will give you hints on where to find some collectibles and when you don’t know how to fight certain enemies.

Bad: ?

Overall: Remember Me ends up being a really good beat-em with a good story, fun combat, good puzzles, and good stealth. Dontnod’s first game is memorable and I hope to see what they come out with next.

Likes: Graphics, voices, combat, boss fights, puzzles, stealth, story, exploring, collectibles, and music.

Dislikes: ?

Wish list: A sequel/spin-off/prequel/reboot of Remember ME.

Score: 5/5 AWESOME!

Recommended for fans of: Dontnod, action, beat-em ups, Batman, stealth, sci-fi, Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell, Ted, Capcom, and fighters.
