Played in Black side – Japanese, Spanish, and English.

White side – Italian and French.

Story: Jack Cayman and Leo with his comrades are after Max for their own reasons.

Good or Bad Story: The story tries to make you care about it, but the end it just tells you your about to fight. Also you play through 2 campaigns 1 where you play Jack and the other where you play Leo. NOT IMPORTANT!

Graphics: Max Anarchy looks okay, but the cut-scenes look better. The game’s engine is starting to show its age and it makes the game look like an XBOX game when ironically this engine also powers Bayonetta, Madworld, Vanquish, and Metal Gear Rising which all look really good compared to this game.

Audio: The Japanese, Spanish, and English voices on the Black side(Jack) are really good even the Italian and French voices in the White side(Leo). The music is really good too, its mostly if not Hip Pop and each character has their own theme and so do some of the fights, however; 1 fight had a theme that didn’t suit it. Note that you can change the text and audio in-game.

Good: Max Anarchy is a 3d beat-em up that has 2 stories to playthrough and once beaten can be replayed with different characters. In combat you can use light, heavy(can also be charged), grab, 360 attack(sacrifice health), dodge, block, lock-on, dash(can attack while doing this), items(can carry 2), taunt(angers foes), modifier attacks, rage mode, and executions to take down bosses and grunts. You will go through different locations and there all open for you to explore at your will when you arrive there. Exploring has its benefits as you will find people to fight, power-ups, and missions both free and main. To open up new missions you must earn points and that is done by beating up people that you see in the streets and completing missions. And this game has unlockable stuff like new character for the multiplayer and the story mode as well as a movie browser.

Bad: There is 1 boss fight that is shared between both stories and this fight just sucks. And for some reason on the level select for the white side I could not replay the last chapter even though I beat the game.

Overall: Max Anarchy is a really good beat-em and it’s also a nice addition to a genre that is not seen often now. While it’s fun there isn’t much reason to replay it after beating it the 1st time and no it doesn’t get boring, but it doesn’t offer a reason to replay it. The game was advertise like a fighting game, but it isn’t 1, however; it had the potential to be 1 if it was a 2.5d or 3d 1 like Tekken. I hope Platinum Games see potential that this game has and turn it into a series that can try to revolutionize beat-em ups and somehow make it work a lot like a fighting game, but make sure to make the game look better 1st.

Likes: Music, voices, gameplay, Story.

Dislikes: 1 boss fight, can’t replay the last White side chapter.

Wishlist: Sequel.

Score: 4.5/5 AWESOME!

Story: Blade Wolf recalls his memories of his past before he met Raiden and trying to find if he could have freedom.

Good or Bad Story: The story does a good job of telling Blade Wolf’s live of what he had to deal with and how he came to be the dog he is now. G00D!

Graphics: The graphics are really good using the same style as the main game showing nice details of the environment and characters.

Audio: The voice acting is superb, but would have still liked if they included the Japanese voices and other dubs. The music is epic especially on the ending.

Game play and Features:

Good: Blade Wolf’s controls are the same as Raiden so there is no need to learn a new control scheme, however; Blade plays different due to his size and shape. He uses light and heavy attack to do combos, he can also use his dash to attack, he has a dodge as well as a parry(an easier 1), he also has Raiden’s visor that allows him to see through things.  Wolf will do a bit of plat forming and he can do his missions by using force or stealth with stealth being his specialty and he can collect items(some can be equipped), destroy some objects, do vr missions, and lay down. Also he has a boss fight. And….BLADE MODE.

Bad: The parry is still forward and light attack when it should be mapped to a button since at times Wolf may parry when you don’t want too. The camera is a pain in the ass as the controls for it fight against you since it wants you to see what “it” wants. There are no upgrades and while you can use force the game pretty much punishes you for using force as Blade Wolf has a hard time dealing with more than 1 character in a fight, so the game insist that you use stealth instead. Since you should use stealth the game should have had some upgrades available.

Overall: Blade Wolf’s adventure is more geared to traditional MG so if you’re a fan of stealth than this dlc is for you, but if you’re looking for more action than Sam’s dlc is for you. On side note this dlc should have been an unlock able for Rising than be a download.

Likes: Game play, graphics, voices, music, and story.

Dislikes: Having to be punished for using force, no upgrades, and camera.

Wish list: Better camera, upgrades, allow for equal use of force and stealth, and other dubs.

Score: 4/5 G00D!

Recommended for fans of: Metal Gear, stealth, Splinter Cell, Konami, Platinum Games, dogs.

Story: Faith a runner is trying to find out who set up her sister Kate who is now on the verge of being executed. She must find out quick or she will lose her only family member.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is not bad it’s not epic either, but it gets the job done. GOOD!

Graphics: The game looks really good especially the lighting and this game came out in 2008 and its visuals still hold to this day. The cut scenes in the game are all 2d and they look good as well. While the game looks realistic its actually cell shaded. However there is a bit of screen tearing.

Audio: The Spanish voice acting is really good, but at times the audio seems to be low even though my setting were on the highest. The music is so smooth. Note I’m not sure if this affects the English and French voice acting.

Game play:

Good: Mirror’s Edge is a First-person Adventure game that contains a lot running. When fighting enemies you have the option to use hand to hand combat, go guns blazing, and disarm your enemies. You can punch and kick any body part of your enemies. You can also attack doors. Disarming your enemies is done with a press of a button; however, you must time the button press or you’ll take damage from the enemy’s melee attack. Once the enemy is disarmed then you’ll acquire there weapon for your own use and if the others are dead the disarm button will allow you to pick the weapon off the ground; however, something’s that Faith can do will not be available if she holds a weapon. Faith can also slowdown time and perform slides that can help her when running, jumping, and fighting. Sliding also helps her vagina bag her enemies. Interacting with some objects just require Faith to just move towards them. The game also includes a hint button that points in the direction that you need to go if your lost. There is also plat forming, collectibles, unlockables, 1 boss fight, the ability to make a 180 turn when on the ground, and 90 turn when jumping. But this game’s key feature is mobility as you’ll mostly want to run when any enemy arrives as even though you’re a runner you’re not superhuman and the whole game revolves around running from something or to get somewhere.

Bad: The only thing I can consider bad is in each level there is a 5 second in game level loading.

Overall: Mirror’s Edge takes the style of A FPS, but doesn’t turn the game into a FPS instead it turns into a adventure game that is in first-person. The mobility makes the game intense as the game always wants you to feel like you’re in a chasing scene from a movie. I like the idea that developers took to make Mirror’s Edge, as the majority of games this generation are FPS I tend to stay away from them, but by taking a FPS approach and converting it to a more adventure style game it shows that a game in first-person doesn’t have to be shooter just because it’s in first-person. What it shows is; however, is that it can be something else and still be enjoyable and fresh. And I can’t wait to see what the next game will offer. A must have.

Likes: Graphics, music, voices, game play, and story.

Dislikes: Screen tearing and in game level loading.

Wish list: No in game level loading.

Score: 5/5 AWESOME!

Story: Each character has their own opening and ending, but no real story is in the game and that’s not a bad thing as the type of game it is it doesn’t matter.

Graphics: The game looks like a SNES game and it looks good. You can change the wallpaper to another that is available, but the games menu could have had a better background.

Audio: The music is not bad and you can change the music for each stage from the original to the 360 version.

Game play:

Good: Muchi Muchi Pork is a 2d arcade shooter where you destroy everything that comes at you and save the pigs to gain more points. You have a normal beam which can be upgraded by getting power-ups and you have a bomb that is a giant robot that drills the enemies. You can play with 1 of 3 characters and each 1 is different. And you go through 5 levels where at the end you fight a boss and save replays.

Bad: The only thing I found to be bad is the background on the main menu.

Overall: Muchi is a really good game that offers 3 characters to play with and really good music to help you blast all of your enemies while trying to save those poor pigs.

Likes: Game play, music, robot, wallpapers, replays, and graphics.

Dislikes: Background for the main menu.

Wish list: Sequel.

Score: 5/5 AWESOME!

Story: Each character is trying to save their mom, but must defeat all of the bad guys first just to do that.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is pretty much non-present except after a character clears a stage and at the ending. It’s not a bad thing as these types of games don’t really on them. NOT IMPORTANT!

Graphics: The game looks like a SNES game and it looks good. You can change the wallpaper to another that is available.

Audio: The music is not bad and you can change the music for each stage from the original to the 360 version.

Game play:

Good: Pink Sweets is a 2d shooter where you blast all your enemies through 7 levels and 4 playable characters (with their own weapons). You can power-up your weapon by getting power-ups that will give you support drones that can attack in any direction. When not firing you create a shield that is bomb that can absorb enemy bullets also you can change the speed of your character at anytime. And you can save replays.

Bad: ?

Overall: Pink Sweets is a really fun shooter and is my favorite game in Cave the best. This is a must have collection that will give you plenty of hours fun.

Likes: Graphics, game play, music, replay, and wallpapers.

Dislikes: ?

Wish list: Sequel.

Story: Taking place after MGS4, Raiden is on a mission to protect Obama’s dad in Africa, but ends up failing the mission and loses an arm and eye. Then later he gets a new body that he will you use to fight those responsible for the death of Obama’s dad and try to uncover their motives.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is serious at times and it’s also cheesy.  It gives it the quality of a action movie when watching those cut scenes(those with fights in them). But the Cutscenes aren’t the only way to get more story through the game, at anytime during game play you can talk with Raiden’s friends who give you more Intel on the story and back story of characters in the game. GOOD!

Graphics: Running on the same engine as every other Platinum game, MGR looks very good when playing and when watching the cutscenes. It is also the best looking game running on their engine.

Audio: Good dialog, voice acting, and the best part the music which is 1 of the best ever put in a action game. Would have liked if they included the Japanese voices since it exist.

Game play:

Good: This game has some of the best combat ever, you start a badass and can be become more badass by leveling up Raiden in many categories. The combat is very similar to Ninja blade and in way MGR is the successor to that game, but faster and epic. You can cut about everything in the game except cats cause they are gods, using any attack and blade mode which slows time can reveal an enemies weak spot and attacking that weak spot can give Raiden health and refill the energy for blade mode. There is also stealth in this game and it’s implemented well although you don’t have to use it if you don’t want. And some of the best fights(including bosses) ever in a action game. Note if you go to the customize menu after destroying objects in the game in each level, after you exit customize menu it will reset the objects.

Bad: The camera has issues when there are many enemies on screen causing it to not keep track of Raiden. The lock-on could be better if it could stay locked on a enemy when getting hit at times. Parrying in this game is mapped to the light attack and to perform this function you must move the left stick in a direction when pressing the light attack button to parry, but this causes an issue where Raiden may just do an attack when trying to parry, it should have been mapped to a different button. There are some minor issues as well, at times destroyable objects that you cut disappear when you try to slice it more. And the frame rate dropped a bit in a fight.

Note if you bought the MGS4 Raiden suit to use it in the game you must pay with battle points just to use it so its 2 payments.

Overall: This is another really good game of 2013 even with its issues this is the second game to refresh my excitement in video games. A must have game of 2013.

Likes: game play, music, story, voice acting, graphics.

Major Dislikes: camera, lock-on, parry button is the same button as the light attack button.

Minor dislikes: objects disappear, frame rate.

Wish list: Sequel, better lock-on, better camera, parry button, and more voice audio options.

Score: 4.5/5 REALLY GOOD!

Recommended for fans of: Action, adventure, MG, ninjas, tmnt, transformers, GI Joe, DMC, Konami, Platinum.

Game Supports Bilingual( some Japanese and English) text.

Audio Japanese only.

Supports 1-2p coop local.

Story: The travel story of Reko a goddess and Palm a boy riding a dragon.

Good or Bad Story: The game doesn’t give you a story when playing except an ending. It’s not important to these types of games.

Graphics: The game looks like an SNES game, but it doesn’t look bad. You can change the wallpaper to any which are available. Also you can stretch the image of the screen and add some additional lighting.

Audio: There is a bit of voice acting, but there is a lot of good themes in the game that pumps you up.

Game play:

Good: This game is played from a birds eye of view and is hard due to the fact that lots of enemies get thrown at you at once. You shoot and bomb your enemies, with upgrades available like power-ups, extra lives, and bombs that come from destroying enemies. You must avoid enemy attacks to survive and there are boss fights at the middle and ending of each level. Additional modes for play are available.

Bad: There is no online play.

Overall: This is a really good shooter that is definitely for those who love the arcades.

Likes: Graphics, music, game play.

Dislikes: no online play.

Wish list: Sequel, online play.

Score: 5/5 Awesome
