Story: Dr. West takes Rick’s girlfriend Jen and now it’s up to him to get her back and the only way to do so is to wear a talking mask that will turn its user in to Jason from Friday the 13th.

Good or Bad Story: The story is good, but it’s just there to motivate you to kick ass. G00D!

Graphics: Splatterhouse 2010 came out in 2010 and playing it in 2014 it still looks really good even the pre-rendered cutscenes look good.

Audio: The music is Splatter-ish and the voice acting is really good with Josh Keyton doing a good job as Rick. I wish the game had other voiceover options. Also if you lose at times the mask will insult you calling you noob and other stuff.

Gameplay

Good: Splatterhouse 2010 is a 3d beat-em up and at times a 2.5d beat-em up where you can use your fist and weapons to pummel your foes until they give up. Rick can also use his sprint, jumping, grab, and berserker mode in a fight, with berserker mode you recover your health, deal more damage, and can use your meter to use more of your modifier moves. Rick can also upgrade his moves and stats, he also can use finishers on his foes and these are gory. The game has okay platforming, but these just don’t fit the game, there are boss fight in each level, you will find pictures of Jen on the floor in each level, there is a survival mode, and you can unlock the first 3 Splatterhouse games.

Bad: The loading screens for losing take too long to load the game. The camera is bad as it always moves around when Rick moves. The sprint barely moves you more than 6 feet. Level 9 sucks cause of the enemies you face there and sometimes the QTE counter button icons don’t respond to your inputs.

Overall: Splatterhouse 2010 is a really good beat-em up that is really gory and its name pretty much defines what the levels will be about. I wish the loading was faster like it is when going to the main menu and I feel as the game doesn’t require camera controls since the camera sucks the game could be fine without 1. And the nice addition of the old games being include is really good. Now I don’t think the game sold well, but I hope Namco Bandai make a sequel to this game and improve it.

Likes: Graphics, music, voices, gameplay, and story.

Dislikes: Camera, loading, sprint, QTE counter, and level 9.

Wishlist: Improve all the things I dislike in a potential sequel, and more voiceover options.

Score: 4.5/5 GIVE ME A HELL YEAH!

Recommended for fans of: Splatterhouse, Namco Bandai, Madworld, Final Fight, Bare Knuckle, beat-em ups.
