Story: Dust wakes up on the far edge of a forest with no memory of who he is and is on journey to find out who he is. With him are Ahrah a talking sword and Fidget a ninbat.

Good or Bad Story?: The story is good and it has emotional moments. It’s mostly told through a Blazblue style story, but you will see cut scenes later on. And the finally is love letter to a very popular franchise. G00D!

Graphics: The graphics are beautiful with vibrant colors and some of best 2d sprites ever seen.

Audio: The voice acting is really good with Dust being voiced by Cyan Pile from Accelworld and some the other characters you meet are voiced by some cast members from that show. The music is good too.

Gameplay and Features:

Good: Dust is an 2d action adventure game with rpg elements. You play Dust and with the help of your sword Ahrah you will slash all the monsters that get in your way with combos. You attack with light attacks, but you also have a heavy attack that creates a whirlwind and  Fidget is also with you and she spits out projectiles and can be combined with your attacks on the ground and in the air. Dust also has a dodge that allows to set up cross-ups on the ground and in the air. And Dust most important ability is parrying attacks.

Along the way you’ll meet a merchant that will sell and buy items from you and you can equip Dust with armor, accessories, and healing items. You have a mini map that shows you where you have been as well as tell you what the different colors on certain squares mean on the map. You’ll get to explore a lot and at times run in to villagers who may give you side quest or they level you up. There is platforming as well as save stations, ability orbs, treasure chest that require inputs to open, boss fights, and characters from other franchises from company that made Dust that make cameos in the game.

Bad: ?

Overall: Dust is an amazing beautiful game, that left me speechless on how to end this review. I highly recommend this game if you haven’t played it already.

Likes: Graphics, voices, music, story, and gameplay.

Dislikes: ?

Wishlist: Another game like Dust.

Score: 5/5 AWESOME!

Platforms: XBOX 360/PC

Game Supports: English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, and Chinese text.

Audio Support: English, Spanish, German, Italian, and French.

Supports 1-2p offline/online co-op, 1-2p offline multiplayer.

Played in English and German.

Story: Dom Santiago decides to free his best friend Marcus Fenix from prison to help Delta Squad fight the Locus.  Note that this takes place after Gears Judgment and Raam’s Shadow.

Good or Bad Story?: Things get really interesting down the line and a bunch of shit happens. Also this is Dom and Marcus’s story. G00D!

Graphics: Gears of War was released in November of 2006 and playing it in 2014…..the game looks……really…….good! The game has a gritty dark visual style that makes it look like a black and white movie, but down the line you’ll get to see more colors. Gears of War was made to show what was possible using the Unreal Engine 3 and it still impresses.

Audio: The music captures the feel of the post-apocalyptic world as well as it also gives you cues when a battle will start and when it ends. The English voice acting is really good with characters like Marcus being voiced by Bender from Futurama, Baird being voiced by the Hulk from MVC3 and recent Marvel shows, and Cole Train being voiced by a NFL player and even looks like him. The German voices are also really good and I found Marcus’s German voice to be a lot better than his English voice.

Gameplay and Features:

Good: Gears of War is a 3rd-person shooter that supports co-op with 2 people offline and online. You play Marcus and at all times Dom will be at your side, but at times you’ll have 2 other guys accompany you both. So what can you do in Gears? Well you shoot Locus for fun, throw grenades, melee them with your guns, pick weapons and ammo, look at interesting things, switch between 3 weapons, take cover(an essential part of the game), dodge(any direction), explore to find tags, stomp Locus when their on the floor, and use your Lancer to chainsaw them in half.

Unlike most shooters you can’t just run and gun in Gears, you could if you want, but that will get you killed. In Gears you must always take cover as that is how you will last in fights. Pretty much everything can give you cover and you can move from cover to cover with a press of a button. You also can sprint straightforward and this sprint can make you go to cover. From cover you can aim your gun and shoot or you can blind fire. The game also has a Active Reload which in which if your press the reload button when the white line touches the white rectangle then you get a damage boost for a few seconds, but if you press the button on the black portion than your weapon will get jammed for a few seconds and you’ll give your opponents a perfect chance to attack you.

Since you always will have at least 1 more person with you than you can give them commands to follow you, attack, and retreat. You also have an indicator that shows you where they are at and if you are low on health they will revive you and you can do the same for them since all of you must be alive to continue. You will at times get the option to choose different paths to decide how to deal with a situation, there are 2 boss fights, and there is plenty of intense action.

Bad: Easy mode is not easy its literally normal mode, why is that? Dodging isn’t as smooth as it should be there is a bit of delay. Even though you can order your team you’ll forget that option is there and it ends up being useless. And your friends are dumb as they will at times run up to the Locus just to have you go save them and the AI will not ever attempt to revive fallen allies(except you) even if they are in front of them.

Differences: The XBOX 360 version includes a story mode, co-op both offline and online, and offline and online multiplayer where you can play either the humans or Locus.

The PC version includes everything that the 360 version has, but features new content like additional campaign levels and a new multiplayer game mode.  As well as mouse and keyboard support in addition to a gamepad.

Overall: Gears of War is a really good shooter that has intense action all over and is a great game to play with friends more so than playing with AI controlled 1s. Gears of War is 1 of my favorite IPs of the current-gen and its 1 of the best games on XBOX 360. A must have.

Likes: Graphics, story, gameplay, voices, music.

Dislikes: AI, easy mode, dodge input delay.

Wishlist: Another Gears, the levels from the PC version to be released on 360.

Story: With the lost of a Halo due to Master Chief destroying it, all hope for the Covenant was lost, but lucky for them they built more than 1 Halo and are going to use another Halo to destroy earth. Master Chief learns of this and is on a mission to destroy another Halo. At the same time a yellow elite is put on trial and is turned in to a Arbiter in order to regain the trust from the higher ups.

Good or Bad Story?: Halo 2’s story is epic and its cinematic. You have to experience the story to understand how good it really is. And Halo 2’s story is pretty much the best story of all the Halo games I played. EPIC!

Graphics: Halo 2 came out in 2004 and playing it in 2014 I got to say…..it has not aged well. The game looks good as its colorful and has environments and some characters mainly the Covenant being well designed, but it also looks bad as well with some characters looking blocky as if they came from an N64 game, Cortana looks ugly and I got to ask what happened to her face?

Some of the environments and machines have washed/muddy textures and the game is also very dark in some areas making it hard to see. And there is some textures that load, but it barely looks different from its original textures.  1 more thing at times reflections from some of the environments stay on screen and it gets annoying as it can make something’s hard to see.

Audio: The music is awesome with some of tracks from the first game being remixed and the other tracks sound like they were composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari the creator of Guilty Gear. The English voice acting is really good, but I would have liked if there were more voice options.

Gameplay and Features:

Good: Halo 2 is a 1st-person shooter where you play both Master Chief and Arbiter whose stories occur at the same time or after the other and depending on the level you’ll play 1 or the other. Halo 2 keeps the core mechanics of its prequel like shooting, tbagging, melee, scoping, picking up weapons and exchanging with your AI pals, throwing grenades, jumping, driving vehicles, hitting your AI pals, exploring the environments to find secrets, co-op(offline and online), and using a flashlight(Chief only). But it also introduces new 1s like using 2 guns at the same time(only certain guns) and hijacking your enemy’s vehicles.  Arbiter doesn’t have a flashlight, but instead has camouflage that last 20 sec. so you can be a bit stealthy. And there are 3 boss fights, a level select, and new weapons.

Bad: There is no option to change the crouch button from holding it down to just pressing it. Your flashlight only works in certain areas and if you try to use it in other areas in the game than it will only last for 9 sec. and on top of that it doesn’t make things easier to see in the dark. You can’t melee foes with 2 guns. You can’t take a turret with you. The AI is terrible at driving and if you get out of a vehicle the AI for your fellow marines will try to kill you and leave you behind.

Overall: Halo 2 is such a blast to play alone or with friends, with an epic cinematic story that is so good you would wish the story was on DVD. The game has its issues, but its a sheer amount of fun that gets better and better. Of all the Halo games I have played I got to say Halo 2 is the best 1 yet. A must have.

Likes: Gameplay, music, voices, story.

Dislikes: Graphics, AI driving, no melee with 2 guns, flashlight, no option to change the crouch button from holding to just a press.

Wishlist: Better AI driving, melee with 2 guns, Remake.
