Story: Chris and Jill are sent to Oswald Spencer’s Mansion to capture Wesker.
Good or Bad Story?: The story is really good as you get to find out what happened after Revelations and before RE5’s main story.
Graphics: LIN’s graphics are the same as RE5, but there is a lot more darkness to the game which gives it the horror feel. Both the characters and the environments look amazing with a lot of detail.
Audio: The voice acting is really good, but I would have liked if the characters could speak more languages. And the music really suits the game’s mood.
Good: RE5LIN is a 3rd person survival-horror shooter where you shoot, knife, punch/kick, share items, and solve puzzles. The inventory contains 9 slots for both Chris and Jill(you can play either 1, but you must beat the game once to play Jill next time) where you can exchange items or give an item to your partner, but also if you place items on the top, bottom, left, and right of the center slot then you can use the d-pad to equip the item rather than having to open the inventory. The puzzles are simple(the majority of the game is puzzle solving) and the shooting/knife/melee mechanics work like RE4. You can change the controls to either the classic controls which reminiscence RE4’s controls and the shooter controls which feels like other 3rd person and FPS games. The enemy variety in LIN is not the same as the main game since you only fight 1 type of mid-bosses and there is only 1 final boss(depending on the difficulty you may or may not fight a lot of enemies). LIN can be played with coop(Ai partner is good), but you can play by yourself and it also has the option to make the game go back to its roots which will give the game fixed camera angles and tank controls. Note LIN is similar to Assignment Ada as you can’t save so you will have to beat it in 1playthrough.
Overall: LIN is a great addition to RE5 as it feels fresh and gives you something different from the main game. The game itself is a throwback to RE1 as the setting looks very familiar to RE1’s mansion and the game play is reminiscence of that. LIN is 1 of the best dlcs available. It’s a must have dlc.
